In our encounters with new aircraft owners, many
already have their private pilot license and single engine aircraft
rating. However, when the time and experience are accumulated behind
the wheel of a Cessna 150 or 172 and the new aircraft is a high
performance composite aircraft capable of speeds nearly double that of
where the experience has been accumulated, problems can arise. In
other cases, the pilot may have experience with fixed-gear aircraft,
but no experience with retractable gear; or, the pilot may have
experience with tricycle layout but needs to learn how to fly a
taildragger.
In an effort to promote safety at all times with
the new builder/owner, Phoenix Composites, Inc. trains all new
aircraft owners how to fly their aircraft, and will not release the
aircraft to the new owner until both the owner and Phoenix Composites,
Inc. are confident that the owner can safely and reliably operate the
new aircraft.
This works out advantageously for the customer
when applying for insurance, as well. By promoting safety in the
cockpit with new owners, Phoenix Composites has worked with insurance
companies and their customers in increasing insurability, as well as
lowering rates due to lower reported accident claims in the composite
experimental category.
WARNING: These aircraft
are high performance and you must be honest with yourself about your
own skill level. PILOT TRAINING WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!
